There are two types of people in the world – those that always have their keys on them, and those that forget them even if they’ve got them in their hands. There’s often no middle ground with this at all. A lot of people are in the latter category, even if they don’t actually want to admit it!
Getting locked out of your home or car is one of the most frustrating things anyone can go through. The good thing is, no matter how forgetful you may be, there’s a way to make sure it doesn’t become something that happens all the time! There are a few extra measures you can take that ensure that no matter what is going on, you know exactly where your keys are!
Put a reminder up on your doorway
One of the easiest ways to make sure that you don’t forget to take your keys with you when you’re leaving your home is to simply put a little reminder to “take your keys” by your door. That way, when you reach for the handle, if you don’t already have your keys on you, you can turn right back and get them!
Designate a spot for them in your purse/pockets
A lot of the time people lose their keys while getting in and out of their cars. This can happen very easily because there are lots of other things going on around you making it easy to get distr犀利士
acted. A way to remedy this is by designating a spot for the keys in your purse or pockets and making sure you’re only putting your keys there! So they’ll never get lost!
Get into a habit of running a checklist
Just having a reminder or a designated spot isn’t going to be enough, those are just going to act as crutches until you get used to always keep your keys on you. That’s why, in addition to that, remember to run a checklist of “keys, phone, wallet” every time you leave the house, and then when you leave the car or your office! That way, if you lose them, you’ll at least know that they’re probably somewhere around you and can be located immediately!
Get a huge keychain
Keys are tiny, and that adds to why they tend to get lost all the time! A good way to juxtaposition the size of the keys is by attaching them to a huge keychain. That way, you’ll get used to seeing the keychain with you all the time, and the people you hang out with will get used to seeing them too. If you’re ever about to walk away without them, you’ll either see them sitting right there, or someone else will remind you! Plus, if you accidentally drop them, the sound will be a lot louder than just one key, making sure you hear it and pick it up!
Use trackers!
Another great way of keeping track of your keys is by putting a tracker on them. This will ensure that even if you end up losing them, and driving off, you can just open the app associated with the tracker and locate them instantly!
Get several spares made
Whether you’ve lost your keys a bunch of times, or just once, or never, it’s a good idea to have several spares of your keys at home. If you don’t already have them, call Locksmith Los Angeles or a recommended locksmith in your general area to make some spare keys for you! Then, you can easily just leave a few spare keys with your friends and family, have some in your car and the rest at home. That way, even if you do lose your keys, you’ll know exactly where you can find a spare!
